“I drew inspiration from the iconic Lavaux terraces to design a building that blends harmoniously into the landscape, following the natural lines of the terrain. The gardens and terraces flow seamlessly into one another and blend smoothly into the natural terrain, in the spirit of the vineyard walls that are characteristic of the region.
Every detail, from the window frames to the roof lines, subtly incorporates certain architectural codes of the wine-grower’s houses, without seeking to reproduce them. Mineral colors and a terracotta-toned roof were chosen to echo the built heritage of Chardonne.
Resolutely contemporary, the architecture is elegantly integrated into its surroundings and proposes a balanced dialogue between tradition and modernity.”
