A pedestrian village square where your children can play safely. In summer and winter alike, you can enjoy a playground, many free activities and local shops.
The new project for the 2 cable cars:
To improve the comfort of the ski area's customers and to reduce congestion on the link to the Rousses slope, one of the most popular in the ski area, a new 10-seat detachable cable car is being planned.
The route of the new installation is slightly different, with the line being extended downstream to better distribute the flow of skiers in the ski area and to allow for better use of the slopes in the sector. As the existing installations are in place, they will not be significantly modified. This new investment is in line with the desire to develop 4-season tourism.
The lower station will be 400 metres above the start of the Grillesses chairlift. The location is on a plateau, so it requires little excavation and no clearing. In terms of technical characteristics, the installation will be 1,746 metres long and will have a vertical drop of 580 metres. It will have a capacity of 2,000 people per hour and a travel time of 5.87 minutes at a speed of 6 metres per second.
And what's next?
In a second phase, a link by ski lift from the village to the Grillesses would guarantee access to the ski area even in adverse weather conditions. The summit of the ski area would then be accessible directly from the village!
These new facilities would also facilitate mobility in the village in the long term, by providing new parking areas near the ski lifts and reducing the use of private vehicles and the number of shuttle buses in the resort.
In addition, in order to modernize the ski lifts, the 3-seater chairlift at Les Rousses could also be replaced by a new gondola lift in the medium term. This would facilitate the transport of sledges on the dedicated slope and allow for the harmonious development of the Rawyl region with a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.
