Ostermundigen is very conveniently located in terms of transport links, particularly due to the bus connections to the city of Bern and the neighboring municipalities of Bolligen and Muri, and its proximity to the motorways in the direction of Zurich, Basel, Lucerne, the Bernese Oberland and the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The location on the Fribourg – Bern Thun and Langnau – Bern – Schwarzenburg S-Bahn lines also contributes to the good transport and residential location.

Physical exercise can be found in the various sports clubs and the fitness center. There is also a nice squash and tennis facility. In the summer, Ostermundigen scores with its beautiful outdoor swimming pool.
