Information about the city of Solothurn: Solothurn is located at 430 m above sea level at the southern foot of the Jura Mountains. The city is divided into a northern and southern area by the Aare River.
Solothurn is characterized by the architecture from the time of the ambassadors of the French royal family and is therefore also known as the “ambassador city”. Impressive buildings such as the St. Ursen Cathedral promise lasting memories.
