Multi-family dwelling house Bahnhofstrasse
The appearance of the residential building on Bahnhofstrasse is characterized by Art Nouveau. The staircase with the eastern apartments dates from 1900. At the end of the 1940s, the residential building was extended to include the western apartments. In the attic, two apartments were renovated and expanded in 2023/2024, and the existing five apartments were renovated.
Commercial unit interior fit-
out The interior fit-out is still to be carried out and is expected to be completed in autumn/winter 2026. The
ceilings and walls will be plastered with a renovation plaster and painted twice. The wet room will be clad with ceramic tiles (Metro tiles) in the splash-water area. The floors will be tiled with medium-sized tiles. A low-maintenance vinyl floor with a rebated edge will be laid in all rooms outside the wet room. The new interior doors and door frames made of wood will be painted twice. The existing plastic windows will be retained.
Generally
In the basement, the commercial unit has a designated cellar for tenants. The general laundry and drying room in the basement is available to all tenants. The electricity consumption of the respective apartment is charged via a simple plug-in card system. The consumption for lighting and sockets is also charged in the tenant cellar. A general bicycle room in the basement is accessible from the south via a staircase from the Waffenplatzstrasse.
Home technology and sustainability
All electrical and sanitary installations are being renewed. The existing radiators are being repainted and some are being replaced with new ones.
For reasons of sustainability, the house is currently still heated with heating oil (the end of its service life has not yet been reached). For reasons of historic preservation, no external insulation was applied to the façade during the renovation of the entire building in 2024. Instead, the entire roof area was very well insulated with Swiss sheep’s wool.
