Historical Bijou from 1570 in the Swiss Alps
Welcome to Euthal! At the southern end of the Sihlsee plain, at 943 m above sea level, stands the historic Sihltal hut, a building monument of great cultural significance. Originally built in 1570 as a summer residence for the abbot of Einsiedeln, this historic building is now a unique residential and estate property with character, history and impressive substance. A place with history and character. The Sihltal hut is a two-story, plastered stone building with a characteristic hipped roof and four striking corner risalits. These architectural elements give the building its distinctive appearance. Two intricately crafted sandstone portals adorn the north and south facades, decorated with the coats of arms of the Einsiedeln monastery and the abbot Eichhorn, a bishop’s mitre and staff – an impressive testament to the monastery’s past. The building is protected as a monument (protection objective II) and is listed in the cantonal inventory of cultural assets worthy of protection...
