Description
“Z’Gsteig,” a gentle hill, offers the best residential location in the city of Burgdorf. Here you live extremely quietly and yet in the center. The shops and restaurants of the upper and lower town, but also the main train station, are within easy walking distance.
Our property was the first villa to be built on the Gsteig. It is no wonder that the builder chose the best location. The breathtaking view of the Emmental and the Bernese Alps is simply unique. The property is surrounded by other buildings of historical value in a loose design.
Endless space in walls of historical value
Noble parquet floors, beautiful stucco ceilings, elegant colored glass windows or artistic and still functional tiled stoves bear witness to the old architecture. These treasures have always been lovingly maintained and cared for, so that they still shine in their greatest splendor today.
You have an endless amount of space inside and outside. Most of the living space, 260 m² of a total of 320 m², is located on the ground floor and the upper floor. Since the floor plans of these two floors are so generous, they were recently used as two separate apartments. If you need even more space, you can fully convert the attic for residential purposes. In any case, the beautiful terrace above the veranda would be a good argument in its favor. The additional living space can be used as a third apartment or as a targeted supplement to the existing living space.
If you have a garden of more than 3,000 m² around the house, you no longer have to worry about your peace and quiet and your privacy. You will find many places to enjoy and linger, sometimes in the shade of a tree, sometimes in a sunny corner. Almost everywhere you can also enjoy the aforementioned fantastic view.
The garden pavilion in the outdoor area should not go unnoticed. If you like coffee and cakes here, you will feel like you are back in the days when you were still on the road with a horse and a cart. The covered fountain also dates back to this time. The outbuildings are complemented by the old wash house, which now offers welcome additional storage space. The outbuildings are also contemporary witnesses of the finest craftsmanship. This is why the Bernese Office for the Protection of Monuments rightly recognizes all the buildings as objects of cantonal importance worthy of protection.
